I have written professionally for over fifteen years, ten of which were spent contributing to the Boston Globe. Locally I have contributed to virtually every publication of note, while nationally I have written bylined articles for the likes of Rolling Stone, Spin and the Hollywood Reporter, among others.

For the longest time I rejected blogs under my own self-imposed ethos that blogging did for writing what karaoke did for singing; not necessarily a major advance for the form. Some consistent, persistent, and eventually insistent friends have finally convinced me otherwise, so welcome to "Shark Patrol Music."

Which will be aiming to explore interesting items from across the pop culture spectrum, not just music, and from a wide range of voices. We may be taking baby steps today but we do have big dreams!

As for the name, "Shark Patrol" was lifted from a song by the late, great Boston band, Morphine in order to name a weekly DJ night. That Monday night tradition continues in the greater Boston area.
